An Open Door: An insight into Men’s Shed Northern Ireland
Originating from Australia in the 90’s, the first Men’s shed in Ireland opened in early 2009. Since then over 400 men’s sheds have sprung up across Ireland. The documentary was created to promote how organisations like this play a vital role in allowing individuals to reconnect with others and instill a sense of identity and belonging to carry. We hear directly from some men in Northern Ireland and how they have felt a renewed sense of purpose since joining their local shed.

Linen Documentary Series Part 1 | Hilden Mill
NEO Digital Media created a 3-part series, commissioned by the Festival, about the once thriving Linen Industry in Northern Ireland. In Ep. 1, we talk about the famous Hilden Mill, home of Barbour Threads. It was once the largest linen thread mill with around 2,000 employees and spanned over 34 acres. Closed in 2006, it now towers over the Lagan towpath as a reminder of the magnitude of the linen industry in Northern Ireland.
